THERE are worries about whether Kendal Rugby Union Club's home fixture with Sedgley Park on Saturday can survive the freeze-up.
Kendal secretary Roger Wilson said on Wednesday the Mint Bridge pitch remained frost-bound, throwing the National League 2 fixture into doubt.
"If it freezes hard on Thursday night as the forecast suggests, there may be little chance of the conditions improving to allow the match to go-ahead, although milder weather is apparently on the way," he said.
Day-time temperatures just about freezing-point are not making any impact on the rock-hard surface.
Kendal's team shows two changes to the starting line-up that went down 51-21 to Penzance and Newlyn.
James Hadwin starts at scrum-half with Dumile Jijana taking a turn among the replacements.
In the forwards, Mark Bowman, who was unavailable to travel last weekend, returns at flanker, with Keith Robinson reverting to the second-row and displacing Andrew Hudson to the bench.
If it gets the go-ahead, the match will kick off at 2.15pm.
