No soul here I'm afraid just a glorified karaoke session featuring the finalists of Fame Academy. Singing cover versions like Tracks of My Tears,' Eternal Flame' and Lean On Me' against studio produced backing tracks, it also features some original songs, two that would have been Ainsley and Lemar's debut singles had they won - Keep Me a Secret' and Lullaby.' Both are good catchy pop records performed well and, since they were written by the students in the academy, it does at least promote something of what the show was about: to look for more than a pretty face who can hold a tune.
Vocally competent if uninspired - is this dumbing down or the democratisation of popular culture? You decide!
