Bowness, challenging strongly for the First Division title in the Milnthorpe and District Snooker League, lost ground when visitors Liberal put in a strong performance to beat them 4-2.
All the Liberal team had to give away big handicaps in each frame, but star performer was Andrew Blenkharn who overcame a 46-point handicap to win.
Peppers F, currently top of the are four points clear of Bowness and Milnthorpe B. Last year's champions Carnforth are not having it all their own way this year. They occupy a relegation place and have not won a league game since October.
Second Division leaders Peppers B coasted to a 5-1 away victory over Crosthwaite while second-placed Peppers D had a 4-2 away victory over Ambleside.
