Health experts have promised to report on a series of meetings held to discuss the services that support older people to live at home.
In November, the public meetings took place at Grange-over-Sands, Windermere, Kendal and Sedbergh, to give local people the opportunity to comment on services provide by health, social services and voluntary organisations.
Topics discussed included access to services, especially transport; finding the right information on services when it was needed; housing; dental services; benefits, and pressures on staff in rural areas with long travelling distances between patients and clients.
A report will be produced and local consultation will be developed. Anyone who was not at the meetings who wishes to comment can contact: Mrs M. Scott, lay member, South Lakeland Local Health Group, Tenterfield, Brigsteer Road, Kendal LA9 5EA.
