A SECOND half goal by Lee Elam gave Morecambe the edge in a hard-fought FA Trophy derby at Giant Axe.
A crowd of more than 2,000 people saw the former Southport winger turn a Gary Thompson cross past Lancaster City's otherwise unbeatable keeper Mark Thornley.
Moments earlier, City's best effort a looping header from Brian Welch had been turned around the post by Morecambe keeper Craig Mawson.
Now the Shrimps must travel to Trophy holders and conference leaders Yeovil Town for the next round.
