Kendal Town 1, Clitheroe 0
A LATE strike by Ian Simpson put Kendal Town into the semi-finals of the Marsden Lancashire Junior Cup last night.
Simpson's 86th minute goal, courtesy of a deflection from a Clitheroe defender extended Town's unbeaten run to 10 games on a bitterly cold night at Parkside.
The win puts Kendal into the Lancashire Junior Cup semi-finals for the first time for 21 years and earns them an away tie with UniBond League Premier Division high-fliers Accrington Stanley, who beat Lancaster City 3-1 in their quarter-final match.
The tie is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19.
Town will be on home ground again this Saturday when they entertain Leek Town in the UniBond First Division hoping to consolidate their place in the league's play-off zone.
