A BUSY Eden farmers market has been given a £1,000 cash boost by Cumbria County Council to help calm traffic on market days. CCC's Eden Local Committee approved the grant to help fund a Traffic Regulation Order, which will regulate nearby traffic flow, after organisers of Orton Farmers Market said it was essential for the safety of shoppers and stallholders. The popular monthly market attracts hundreds of customers and has a waiting list of farmers and producers wanting to trade at the event.
