THE Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority is to reduce the all-day charge at its car park in Dent from £3 to £2 following a pilot scheme to encourage long-stay visitors. The scheme, which began in April 2002, saw the all-day charge set at £3 and £1 for two hours. It was introduced following consultation with local
residents and businesses. The authority is to continue the pilot scheme for a further year with amended charges. From April, the new £2 all-day rate will be introduced. The current two-hour rate will be increased by 50p to £1.50.
