POLICE are warning people to be more vigilant with their money following a late night attack on two teenage boys shortly after they used a cash machine.

The incident occurred at 11.45 pm last Friday in the New Shambles off Market Place, Kendal, when it is believed a pair of slightly older boys watched the two withdraw money before attacking them and stealing their cash.

A police spokesman said, while this type of crime was "extremely rare in Kendal", people should be very vigilant when using cash points.

Witnesses are asked to contact the police on 01768 891999.
