Bamber Bridge 8, Kendal Town 2
KENDAL Town's 11-match unbeaten run ended in spectacular fashion at Bamber Bridge when the home side slammed in eight goals to go forward to the semi-finals of the UniBond League Chairman's Cup.
Bridge went 2-0 up at half-time, but Town hoped to get back into the match when Gareth Jones scored in the 50th minute.
That was as good as it got, however, as a comedy of defensive errors allowed one Bridge forward to net a hat-trick in seven minutes while his colleagues added insult to injury with a further three strikes.
Stuart Cliff added Kendal's second in the 81st minute.
Town must now regroup to press ahead with their challenge for a UniBond League First Division play-off place when they travel to Lincoln Town on Saturday.
