The Cathedral Quarry in Little Langdale has been re-opened after inspectors investiaged a reported crack.
Following the reported appearance of a crack Cathedral Quarry was closed for inspection at the beginning of the month.
Dr Paul Nathanial, a Geo Technical Surveyor who has been involved with monitoring Cathedral since the mid nineties, carried out an independent inspection.
In his report he says, "While I think the precaution of closing Cathedral Quarry was the correct one, my inspection has not revealed any evidence to justify its continued closure so I would be happy for you to reopen the Quarry."
The Quarry was re-opened February 11 to the general public, but people are asked to exercise caution in the area.
