A SOLDIER has died in a three-vehicle accident at a notorious South Lakeland accident blackspot.
Lance Bombadier Keith Francis Bryant-Wilding, 26, who is from the Ulverston area, was driving a green Nissan Almera when the fatal accident happened on the A590 at Ayside, at around 11.30am last Friday.
The accident also involved a Ford Iveco flatbed wagon driven by David Bonson, 44, and a Ford Courier van driven by Steve Mullen, 29, both from Barrow.
Fire crews from Kendal and Grange attended the accident and the road was closed for four hours.
Mr Bryant-Wilding was serving with the 40th Regiment of the Royal Artillery stationed at Topcliffe Barracks, near Thirsk, north Yorkshire.
