THE town crier for Dalton-in-Furness does the job so well that he has landed himself a second appointment.
Alan Brown has been Dalton's town crier for more than two years.
When he was approached by Barrow Borough Council to take up a second post, he said he had no hesitation in accepting.
"I like the job and I have always had a loud voice as I used to be involved with the army cadets. My only concern was that if appointments clashed, but an agreement has been reached in case they do," he said.
Barrow town centre manager Ann Taylforth said: "We have agreed with Dalton Town Council that Alan will promote both towns but with the understanding that if he was required by both councils on the same day, his Dalton duties would be given priority.
"This we are happy to do and I am delighted that Alan will extend his role to act as an ambassador for the whole borough."
Mr Miller is Barrow's second town crier since the post was introduced to mark the millennium.
The town's first crier Ian Todd died last year and the post had not been filled since.
