A TEENAGE girl who failed to return home from school has still not been found more than two weeks after her disappearance was reported.
Amanda West, 16, who lives in authority care in Kendal but goes to school in Barrow, did not arrive home on March 28.
Police said the teenager, who is originally from the East Lancashire area, may have returned to the area where members of her family live, although there have been no reported sightings.
Cumbria Police spokesman Mike Smith said Amanda had gone missing on a number of occasions in the past but had always been found safe and well.
"She originates from Blackburn, Lancashire, and it is believed she may have returned to that area or the Nelson area.
"Obviously as times goes on we are becoming concerned for her safety and well being," said Mr Smith.
Police have alerted the neighbouring force in Lancashire to be on the look-out for her.
She was last seen wearing black trousers, blue sweatshirt and trainers. She is around 5ft 4ins tall and has dyed red hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information should call police in Kendal on 01539-722611.
