PENRITH and the Border MP David Maclean has attacked Gordon Brown's budget.
Mr Maclean claims it will mean more taxes, more spending, more borrowing, more promises, more failure, more excuses, and still no results.
Speaking after last week's budget, Mr Maclean said: "For seven years we have had the same story from the Chancellor more taxes and more spending, but no reform and no delivery.
"Four months ago the Chancellor was forced to admit the economy had not grown as fast as he had hoped and that he would have to borrow more as a result."
Mr Maclean said: "People are paying more and more tax from this week a typical family are another £568 a year worse off but their public services still aren't good enough.
"Today the Chancellor failed to deliver a fair deal for people across the board. For the young and the old; for families and low earners; for those who create jobs and those who need them; for those who pay for our public services and those who rely on them.
"So it is more taxes, more spending, more borrowing, more promises, more failure, more excuses, and still no results."
