WORLD events and the threat of terrorism have made a new secure door entry system at South Lakeland District Council premises even more important, according to the authority.
The £25,000 system is to be installed at South Lakeland House and Lowther Street offices in Kendal.
Staff will be issued with a card which will permit entry to the buildings, and will also record their attendance and the hours worked.
