OLD wartime airfield buildings are set to disappear if plans for a riding centre are given the go-ahead.
South Lakeland District Council planners will consider a scheme at Airfield Farm, Flookburgh, for an indoor equine school, livery yard, and small scale breeding facilities at a meeting of the planning committee next Thursday.
Area planning officer Lilian Hopkins said the project centred on land near the old control tower and "got rid of unslightly old buildings".
Some new structures and an exercise area would be created. Applicant Jennifer Lee Peters breaks and trains horses and would be offering livery facilities on the site, added Miss Hopkins.
