KENDAL Town Council is to show the quality of its mercy, and help South Lakeland District Council back the Royal Shakespeare Company's visit to Kendal.
At their latest meeting, councillors agreed to the "judicious use" of a £1,500 sum towards sponsoring the company's visit from May 20-24. Council clerk Hugh McClorry said he had received a request from the district council for help with sponsoring the event, which was already being sponsored by the Arts Council and the County Council.
After the meeting Mr McClorry said he had been told that town council would get credits on items such as the district council's website, inserts into programmes, posters and displays.
