A KENDAL drummer has embarked on a mission to create some noise in South Lakeland starting with a gig tonight (April 18).
Kendal College Student Dan Williams has set about organising a series of gigs under the banner of slab.c. short for the South Lakeland Anti Boredom Campaign.
Tonight (Friday) sees a selection of groups, including one from north of the border, playing at Kendal's Ibis club.
Dan said: "We have had a couple of successful gigs so far at Ibis with local bands playing. This time we have booked a professional band called Toy."
The band, from Falkirk, Scotland, was awarded demo of the month by national music magazine Metal Hammer last moth.
Other local bands performing in tonight's gig will include Ali Bongo and the Meal Makers from Kendal, Nana's Revenge from Barrow and Kyra, who won a recent Mary Wakefield competition.
Doors open at 7pm and tickets are £3.50. For a sneak preview of the band log onto http://www.toysuck.com.
