A MOTORCYCLIST and his pillion passenger suffered minor injuries after being in collision with a heavy goods vehicle in Lowick on Good Friday.
The accident happened at 4.20pm on the B5092 near Lowick Hall. The road was closed for nearly three hours while an oil spillage on the road was cleaned up, but police said it did not cause any major delays.
The driver of the lorry, a 44-year-old man from Clitheroe, escaped uninjured but the driver of the Suzuki GSX motorbike, a 46-year-old man from Pontefract, and his female passenger were taken to Furness General Hospital, in Barrow. They were both released the same day following treatment.
Police did not release the names of those involved as they asked not to be identified.
