ENTRY to Kendal Museum will be free to everyone during the months of May and June.
The period of free admission is to celebrate National Museums and Galleries Month, and also the return to direct management by South Lakeland District Council.
Kendal Town Council has provided the funding to enable the museum to open for free.
As part of the celebrations the museum is also offering a week-long adult art course called From Artefact to Art that will run from May 12 to 16. Activities will include collage, observational drawing and 3D work. The course, which costs £50, will run from 10.30am to 1pm daily.
There are only ten places available and these must be booked in advance.
