KENDAL Town Hall had an atmosphere of anticipation as an audience of 280 were welcomed by Mrs Dianne Hornby, chairman of Agriculture, Horticulture and Home Economics Committee, who had arranged the event and gave a special warm welcome to the many members of various flower clubs who were attending.
She introduced David Ryland by informing us he was from Flookburgh and was South Cumbria's only national floral demon-strator and had in 2002 represented the UK at the World Flower Show in Glasgow.
Mrs Ruth Rigg gave an appreciative vote of thanks.
