PLAYERS from the newly formed Lancaster Rugby League Club are to be nominated for England trials taking place in Sheffield next month, it has been revealed.
The trials, which will feature amateur players from across the northern divisions of the Rugby League Conference, are one of the first steps to England selection for the home nations series which starts in two months time.
Hinting that something big was in the pipeline, club spokesman Richard de la Riviere told the Citizen this week: "There is every possibility local players will be involved in international rugby this summer, not just for their home country but also for the club. We hope to make a significant announcement in the next couple of weeks."
For more details about registering as a player with Lancaster, call Richard on 01524-68085 or 07956-538567.
The club is also keen to hear from rugby union players who are interested in switching codes during the 15-man game's summer close season.
