A FORGOTTEN secret' garden at the Storey Gallery has received a £10,000 facelift - with the help of local people.
The overgrown garden has been brought back to life after a group of residents, the gallery and city council held meetings to discuss its rejuvenation and to make it more accessible for locals and visitors alike.
New signs have been installed so people can find the garden more easily, improvements have been made to the entrance from Castle Park and three benches have been donated by local Soroptomists.
The garden - left abandoned until 1997 - has also been split into two sections, with a tasting' area and an open-air gallery for temporary artworks.
Pictured right (left to right) are Pat Ainsworth of Soroptimists, Lois Willis, chair of trustees of the Gallery, gallery co-ordinator John Angus, and Graham Cox, head of property services for Lancaster City Council.
