BOOK lovers should home in on the Bookshop at the Tinners' Rabbit, Ulverston, tonight (Friday 7.30pm) as it hosts the launch of The Lacquered Box, by Helen Shacklady, the last in the Ulverston writer's trilogy of mystery thriller novels.
Helen's novels deftly create characters, heterosexual, gay and lesbian, to uncover shady deals, long-time-ago-lovers, and high-risk fraud.
Helen was a hit at the 2002 York Women's Book Festival where she shared the platform with Sarah Waters, she of Tipping the Velvet and Fingersmith fame.
For the launch, Helen will be in conversation with Zosia Wand, talking about her life as a writer, reading from her novels and answering questions from the audience.
Classical guitarist Matt Cowe provides a musical interlude.
Space is limited so ring or call in at The Bookshop to book a place, 48 Market Street, Ulverston, or on 01229-588858.
