THE ONE-DAY Cumbria Inter-Cricket Indoor Competition takes in Kendal on Tuesday.
More than 40 children, aged 11-16, will be taking part in the event at Queen Katherine School on Appleby Road, Kendal.
The eight-a-side format is designed to give all players a chance to bat and bowl and they wear coloured clothing similar to that used in national cricket.
Inter Cricket is a scheme launched in 2001 by the ECB and bridges the gap between Kwik cricket and the hard-ball game.
Cumbria Cricket Development Officer Bob Simpson said: "It makes cricket coaching more fun for children and more flexible for coaches. It is simple and fast moving and can be played indoors and out on most surfaces."
