IAN VOORTMAN may be playing his final match for Kendal when he steps out at Fylde in the final match of the season on Saturday, writes Richard Daniels.
Voortman is currently in negotiations with Sedgley Park over a deal which will enable him to keep playing in National League Division 2.
Kendal's Director of Rugby Chris Hayton said: "Ian has spent six seasons with us and in that time he became recognised as one of the best players in the league.
"He has been a grand servant to Kendal and has been a favourite with the crowds.
"It will be sad to see him go, but this happens in the after-shock when a club is demoted and it is natural that players reassess their position and also become vulnerable to approaches from other clubs."
Both Fylde and Kendal are already relegated from National League Division 2 ahead of the final weekend, but the third club to join them still rests on the final set of
results with any one of four other clubs still threatened with the drop.
