A MARAUDING mollusc left a trail of destruction after it crawled into the control box of traffic lights at a busy Kendal road junction.
The snail found its way on to electrical components and shorted out crucial circuits in the control box at the junction of Burton Road and Oxenholme Road in Kendal.
The tripped traffic lights caused congestion in the area for nearly three days before the problem was rectified on Wednesday.
