MILNTHORPE Corinthians, triple-winning champions last season, were celebrating again - but this time it was over their survival in the Premier Division of the West Lancashire League.
Corinthians staved off the threat of relegation with a 2-0 away win over Norcross and Warbreck with goals from Andy McClennand and Mark Smith on Saturday.
The Milnthorpe side had gone into the penultimate fixture of the season needing at least a draw to ensure they stay up in the Premier ranks for a second season.
Departed manager Neil Crossley, who left recently because of other commitments, must take a lot of credit along with his assistant John Sherry and Harold Pennington, who have carried on the hard work.
The trio took over management of the side after a mass exodus of the highly-successful squad just two weeks before the start of the current season.
