THIS month I was really pleased to come across a new range of natural healing and beauty products, not just because I am aware that the season to bear-what-you-dare will soon be upon us (and boy, is my tired old flesh in need of some natural healing) but because this collection comes from local folk.
Jane Holroyd has big plans for the future of her company, Mother Earth, which she began last July. Jane is a healer, with a list of diplomas and certificate to prove herself knowledgeable in the field. She has worked with eating disorders, depression, menopause, arthritis, chronic back pain, psoriasis, IBS, asthma, Parkinsons and MS, and has been involved extensively with Alzheimers, stroke patients and victims of domestic violence.
She recently appeared on the BBC1 programme Heaven and Earth Show where she took part in an experiment giving treatments to dinner ladies to see if healing could work in the workplace. The results and feedback were spectacular.
The company is based near Coniston. All products in the range are truly natural, based solely on the plant world. The collection promises to "heal, enhance and even transform your lifestyle." The recipes are taken from those passed down from generation to generation, from all corners of the world, from Italy, Spain, the Australian Bush and right back here to our ancestors in the English countryside.
"We are committed to giving you the products that enable you to help stop the widespread use of chemicals that can damage our health, beauty and well-being," says Amanda Radcliffe, marketing manager behind the company. "Mother Earth products will not only enhance your beauty but will also help you to heal yourself emotionally and bring joy and positive energy to looking after your health."
You can catch up with the girls and learn more about their holistic range of treatments between Friday, May 31 and Monday, June 2 when they will be based in the Made in Cumbria tent at the Holker Garden Festival, at Holker Hall.
