Robert Woof tells me his daughter Emily has been awarded best director in the Paris Film Festival for her 12-minute film Between the Wars.
Co-written with Dan Wild, the short impressed many as the support film at the northern premiere of Pandaemonium (in which Emily played William Wordsmith's sister Dorothy) screened at Derek Hook's Zeffirellis, in Ambleside, in September 2001.
Robert said Emily's film is one of several featured in a festival of short films the Wordsworth Trust is staging later in the year at the Ambleside cinema. One film to be featured has been written by rising Cumbrian writer and poet, Jacob Polley.
