LONG Marton athlete, Deborah Perry has won a scholarship to Sedbergh School and will be saying farewell to friends and staff at Appleby Grammar School at the end of this term.
Deborah, 13, has been accepted on a sports scholarship, but will remain a member of the Appleby Swimming Club squad when she leaves town. Former Long Marton Primary School pupil Deborah was last year the first local competitor to complete the seventh Appleby Mini-Triathlon and received a medal from founder of the event, Stuart Robinson.
She has also recently achieved a personal best time of 37.08secs in the 50 metres backstroke at the Cumbrian Age Groups championship.
Deborah will take up her place at Sedbergh School in September.
