THE group behind efforts to reopen the railway between Keswick and Penrith has launched a new bond offer in a bid to raise £100,000.

CKP Railways plc says the latest bond offer aims to see the company through the last paperwork stages leading up to construction work.

The company plans to run an everyday passenger train service to destinations across the national rail network. It says a railway would boost the area's economy and help

to relieve pressure on roads and car parks in the Lake District.
