Defending champions Barrow were home to Workington and elected to bat. They were just 15-1 when the weather intervened.

Millom visited Cleator and were 54-2 when the end came with Stuart Swallow on 34 and Laurie Flynn having taken

2-15.

Vickerstown faced prom-oted Cockermouth and were 72-5 with Phil Thompson on 23 when the curtains came down. Mark Bowen had captured 2-5 and James

Hill 2-18.

Duddon SC were struggling on 42-3 at home to Whitehaven when rain swept in from the sea. Haverigg visited Lindal Moor and were 16-1 at the close.

Wigton were home to Furness and, batting first were all out of 131. Mark Gillespie (37) and Ged Jackson (29) top scoring as Springbok Wilem Du Toit took 6-28 and new recruit Stuart Horen 3-6.

In Division One, Appleby Eden entertained Carlisle and were dismissed for 148, Gary Trotter top scoring with 87 and Peter Henderson taking 3-9.

BAE Systems SC were home to Kirkby who were

89-4 when the elements took over, Paul Fugler top scoring with 32 not out. Indian Nanda Kishore took 2-30 and Peter Wall 2-35.

Egremont hosted Cleator A and were 55-12 when the rain arrived, Gary Johnson 30 not out.

Keswick were the visitors at Dalton and reached 103-3, Richard Webster 58 not out and Justin Quint taking 3-15.

Carnforth batted first at Ulverston and were 106-6 when forced to leave the crease, Atik Zaman 51 while Steve Drage returned 3-30.
