BOOTHS supermarket, in Kirkby Lonsdale, has won a prestigious design award from The Civic Trust.
Trust judges praised the scheme for its use of local materials and its sensitive design fitting in with local vernacular architecture. Booths property director Graham Booth said the company had taken care to design a building appropriate to the area and said the store's faade and retaining walls had been built using stone recovered from the site itself and refaced for the purpose.
