ULVERSTON'S colourful flag festival was launched last weekend attracting an extra 15 businesses and residents than last year.
The festival, which sees between 150 and 160 decorated flags flying high around the town, was launched five years ago. It will end on Saturday, May 17.
Secretary of the Better Town's Team, which organises the festival, Mick Hall, said the aim of the event was to "brighten up the town."
"We have got a few more people taking part this year. Next year we hope to build the festival up even more," he said.
South Lakeland District Council, Ulverston Town Council and Ulverston electronics firm, Marl International, provided funding for the two-week festival. (D3E012SB1)
