The opinions of Netherfield and Kendal CC captains Tommy Prime and David Fallows are brought to you online.

TOMMY: For a newly-appointed captain I 'm learning fast that life isn't so sweet when your're in charge and the side's not winning.

Our loyal supporters who turn out week in, week out always have plenty to say and they ask questions - and want answers.

Improvement must be made to recapture our form after Saturday's disappointing losing draw against Lancaster on Saturday.

We seemed keen enough beforehand, but the lads struggled once they got out there on the field and obviously I must admit to wondering whether it's my fault and whether I can command the same respect as others who have gone before me.

When I sat down to analyse where we went wrong, there was a case for saying we are just in an unlucky run at present.

The opposition batsmen seem to play and miss regularly and we can only maintain the effort and hope the edges will

start to come.

But you can be sure of one thing - they won't unless we push harder and work together for the full amount of overs we are allotted.

Our hunger for success and our ability to almost taunt the opposing batsmen's in ability to deal with our bowling is not there at present.

We are in danger of becoming driftwood at this early stage of the season and as captain I can only hope the hunger that took us to our league and cup titles returns.

Maybe the lads should change from drinking lager to bitter - if it was that simple!

This weekend brings a bit of colour to the game with the introduction of coloured kits so look out for them.

DAVE : What a difference between the Kendal side that capitulated to Darwen and the one that beat Leyland Motors on Saturday.

Kendal's best form of defence is attack and on both days at the weekend we showed character to rebuild the innings after collapses.

KB (Kabir Khan) and Simon Little did the business on Saturday. The only trouble is that KB now thinks he should be opening the innings, when really I think he is doing a great job at No. 9!

I know it's been cold lately but when Motors captain David Makinson was wearing gloves I thought he was taking the mickey.

He went on to explain he had a medical condition affecting his finger joints and that the ECB had cleared him to wear special protective gloves - but obviously not bowl in them.

Sunday's National Knockout win at Southport and Birkdale was a personal boost as I shared a century partnership with young wicket-keeper Chris Florence to rally us from 34-5 to go on and win.

Anyway, Kendal CC transforms into the West Indies, or at least the same colours as the Caribbean Kings this week.

At the official launch of the new kits on Monday night we all had a great laugh picking the numbers which people want on the back of their shirts.

You will have to come and watch us when we're at home to see what number Stuart Parkin has chosen - you won't find it in the coaching manual...cheeky chappie.
