FOUR players have been released by Morecambe as manager Jim Harvey begins working towards the next Nationwide Conference campaign.

Lee Colkin, Keith Hill, Alan Morgan and Perry Taylor have all been told they can go - with defender Colkin quickly being snapped up by Burton Albion.

Also on his way out of Christie Park is Lee Elam, set to go back to Yorkshire after failing to win a new deal with the Shrimps.

Elam signed with Halifax Town on Tuesday after talks at Morecambe failed to produce an extension of his contract.

He is said to have asked the board of directors to leave con-tract negotiations until the end of the season when he would know which league Morecambe would be competing in.

But vice chairman Graham Hodgson says the club has been unable to contact Lee since the season ended and is disap-pointed to find that he has signed a contract with Halifax Town.

Definitely extending his time at Christie Park will be midfielder Lee Collins, who was signed on loan from Blackpool on deadline day towards the end of the last campaign. He has agreed a deal to become a Morecambe player.
