BRIMFUL of enthusiasm and dying to get on stage, a familiar group is back on the South Lakeland music scene awaiting your feedback.

Formerly known as Rummbleguts, Ahab is a six-man band with some talented new members to its name and a fresh batch of tunes ready to be rolled out in front of a live audience.

One of the band's original members Dave Livingstone said the new line-up was working a treat.

"I think it is wonderful, I wish I had met these guys

years ago. I am the oldest at 52 and I think they are great musicians."

Ahab have decided to take the unusual step of performing a showcase and inviting on-the-spot feedback from fans and critics alike.

"We have done a lot of original material as well as some traditional stuff and we are dying to try it out.

"We have spent eight months rehearsing and working away so we want to get out there and say what do you think?"

Ahab will perform their showcase on May 24 at Ibis from 9pm to 11.30pm.

The group are Jane Barrett, vocals; Danny Whittle, keyboards; Steve Hartley, drums and percussion; James Bently, bass; Chris Holmes, lead and rhythm guitar; and Dave Livingstone, guitar and backing vocals.
