FURNESS amassed 341 runs for the loss of just three wickets as they recorded the highest score of the season so far in the John Smith's North Lancashire and Cumbria Cricket League.
John Wild scored 141 and Alan Sippy 130, but their day was marred when visitors Cleator hung on for a losing draw at 195-6.
Joint leaders Barrow and Vickerstown fought out a tie.
Vickerstown scored 162-8, Steven Harvey (54) and Peter Reynolds (33) their top scorers with Ray Mowat (4-44) and Rawl Lewis (2-39) the main wicket-takers.
When Barrow replied opener Robin Adams scored 54, skipper Ian Allington 25 not out and Lewis 24. West Indian Kenroy Peters took 3-34 and Brian Tucker 2-44.
Barrow needed two runs from the last ball, but could mange one for a tie on 162-7.
The two teams remain joint top on 51 points.
There was a close finish at Millom where Simon Bickerstaffe took the last two Duddon SC wickets with the last two balls of the innings to return 5-48 and give Millom a two run victory.
Batting first Millom scored 179-5, Stuart Swallow (56) and Jeff Smith 39 not out while Mike Fugler returned 2-29.
Duddon reached 177-8, Chris Brookshaw scoring 45, Mike Fugler 38, Graham Woods 30 and Gary Stevenson 23 and were within three runs of victory when Bicker worked his magic and they were all out for 177.
Lindal Moor were at Wigton where they beat the home side by ten wickets after restricting them to 85-9. Spinner John Atkinson taking 3-29 and Tony Johnson grabbing 3-17. Greg Morton top scored with 21.
Lindal openers Colin Knight (43 not out) and Gary Gibson (34 not out) steered Moor to victory on 86-0.
Haverigg batted first at Workington and scored 210-6, Peter Brockbank blasting 91 not out and West Indian Junior Mitcham 77. Ian Batty took 3-45.
Workington earned a losing draw with 132-8. Keith Paterson returning 4-27 and M. Gorley scoring an undefeated 54.
