BOOKINGS for stalls at the annual Kendal Mediaeval Market on Monday, May 26, have exceeded all previous records.

"It appears that the market's fame is continuing to spread as many new stallholders will be coming this year," said John Owen, the market's promotions co-ordinator.

The market attracts over 30,000 visitors to Kendal centre and an extensive programme of fun events has been lined up to keep the crowds entertained with Dickie Doodle, King Richard's drunken emissary, with activities atarting at 10am.

The Westmorland Shopping Centre will be open for the day and will feature a display of live owls and Raptors from the Corio Raptor Care and Rehabilitation Centre.
