BANDS are psyching up to do battle in a Lakeland forest this weekend.
Top tunes from the cream of young local bands will be put to the test before an audience at Grizedale Forest tomorrow (Saturday).
The groups which made it through to the final play-off of the competition include Zenolith, Synko, Mindless, Five-Mile-Smile and The Rising.
The event, which kicks off at 8pm, is part of a Grizedale Arts Touring Show which incorporates a host of creative happenings ranging from the sublime portable sound sculptures made from polished fibre glass to the ridiculous stuntmen and exploding melons.
Following the gig, the winning band will be announced at 11pm. All entries will receive a set of professional snaps from photographer Polly Braden. The winner will scoop £100 plus a chance to compete against regional winners from similar competitions in Birmingham and Wales.
