FOUR young Casterton School clarinettists are already hitting the high notes with their selection for the final of the National Festival of Music for Youth, to be held in the Purcell Rooms, on the South Bank, this summer.
In previous years other senior musicians from Casterton have performed in the final of this prestigious event, but this year the girls' selection is particularly rewarding, says the school.
Katie Smoker, Esther-Rose Bartholomew and Adele Wright are all 13, and Sarah-Jane Berwick was 14 last month, yet they will be competing in the under-19 age group. Pictured at the back, from left, are Katie, Esther-Rose and Sarah-Jane; with Adele at the front.
