A CITIZEN appeal for the return of two stolen pet rabbits has reunited the home-loving creatures with their owner.
Dudley and Chicco were found dumped at Pine Lake Resort, Dock Acres, Carnforth, after being grabbed from their hutch.
Gutted' owner Donna Trotter appealed through the Citizen for anyone who found the pair to contact her.
"I don't care where they are, I will drive and pick them up," said the 23-year-old residential supervisor from North Road, Carnforth, amid fears her pets could have been skinned.
Hopes were raised when police thought they had seen the pair off the A6.
But after the Citizen was published, a receptionist at Pine Lake called Donna to say black and white Dutch rabbit Dudley and his female friend Chicco had been abandoned in the resort grounds. She and a friend looked after them until reading Donna's heartfelt appeal.
Donna says that the pair had not eaten while away but they were now settling back home and have received a clean bill of health from the vet.
