CARTMEL Racecourse is gearing up for three action-packed days of racing this May Bank Holiday, on Saturday 24, Monday 26 and Wednesday May 28.
As well as the razzmatazz of the funfair, trade stalls and a wide variety of food stalls, Countryside Day on Wednesday will feature falconry displays, both flying and static organised by Cumbrian
Falconry Ltd.
In addition on Wednesday there will be a hound trailing demonstration on the course by Border Hound Trailing Association during the morning.
Racing starts at 2.15pm on Saturday and Monday and 2.05pm on Wednesday.
Tickets are still available for all three racedays and it is recommended to buy them in advance to ease access into the racecourse (telephone 0151 522 2929).
The racecourse now stages three further fixtures in 2003, with the addition of a new raceday on Thursday 17th July.
This new fixture plays host to BBQ day, were racegoers are encouraged to bring a barbeque or picnic and sample the unique setting of Cartmel at a slower pace.
The August Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 23rd & Monday 25th) will host the final two racedays for 2003.
