STRING driven sounds from Europe and beyond will be playing at The Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal, this weekend.
Handpicked is a group of five artists from five different countries playing an array of instruments representing just a fraction of the worldwide styles.
Featuring Seckou Keita, Tony McManus, Minna Raskinen, Llio Rhydderch and Martin Simpson, the group's music incorporates lilting guitars, the ethereal kantele, the triple harp, and the infectious African rhythms of the kora.
Ancient traditions and contemporary styles look set to collide when these world-class musicians come to town playing instruments most of us have never even heard of.
