FOLK lovers should get themselves to Furness for an action packed celebration of their favourite sounds.
One of the region's most popular Ceilidh bands - Striding Edge (left) - will host a music workshop between 12.30pm and 4pm and a Ceilidh between 7pm and 10.30pm at St Bernard's High School, Barrow.
But folk purists be warned, Striding Edge are known for their eclectic approach to traditional Cumbrian music, creating a heady mix of folk melody, world-beat grooves and rock.
During the workshop, the band will share their skills with players of all abilities including guitarists, percussionists, meleodeon and melody players. All are welcome.
And after a hard day of music-making it will be time to take to the dance floor.
The event is sponsored by Northern music agency Folkworks. For details, contact Mike Willoughby on 01229-588852.
