WHEELBASE Trailquest cyclists Paul Trott and Martin Andrew have pulled off two fine results on their new Trek bikes.
In the two-day Polaris event on the Isle of Man they were runners-up in the Seniors, narrowly beaten by a Czech international rider who had come over specially for the event.
Unluckily, Trott and Martin had sustained two punctures on the last of the seven hours' riding on Saturday's programme, which cost them time going for a vital 20-point control.
On the Sunday, which consisted of five hours in the saddle, the two riders totalled the highest score of the day.
There was even a closer finish in the latest National League event. Steve Heading, the current national champion, just beat the South Lakeland duo by a solitary point. Trott and Andrew actually scored higher but incurred a time penalty and lost points as a result.
