VINTAGE musicians and seasoned performers The Hamsters are heading for Kendal.

Voted one of the UK's best unsigned bands by Kerrang magazine, the band, as well as performing their own material, are widely regarded as leading interpreters of the music of Jimi Hendrix and ZZ Top.

The Hamsters will be stopping off for a two-night residency at the Brewery Arts Centre on Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June14.

Now in their 16th year together, and soon to be performing their 3,250th concert, they have a national mailing list exceeding 20,000. The Hamsters are, in fact, firmly established as the UK's leading blues-rock attraction.

Originally taking their name from the Sex Pistols, who used it as a pseudonym to outwit hostile councils, the band have performed with artists of the calibre of Eric Clapton, Alison Moyet and Dr Feelgood.

Tickets are on sale now from the Brewery Box Office on 01539-725133.
