SUPPORTERS of convicted Lady in the Lake' killer Gordon Park are planning a series of street campaigns in the Lake District to help get him set free.
Park's son Jeremy said they were considering leafleting in Coniston, Windermere and Ambleside after braving the streets of Barrow to hand out flyers.
Jeremy Park's wife, Alison, was joined by a lifelong friend of Park's third wife, Jenny, and her daughter-in-law in Barrow town centre - Park's home town and handed out 200 flyers in half-an-hour.
The leaflets argued their case that Park was a victim of a cruel miscarriage of justice and sought more evidence by asking: "Who killed Carol Park? Where? When? Why? What do you know?"
Gordon Park, a retired Barrow school teacher, began a 15-year prison sentence in January after being convicted of murdering his wife, Carol, in 1976 before dumping her body in Coniston Water where it lay undiscovered for 21 years.
The campaign leaflets which are backed by the campaign website www.freegordon.com - suggest there are still other suspects for the murder.
